Forbidden Marriages: Do Not Marry A Heretic

In this paper I will examine the question of matrimony with heretics. Canon law forbids marrying a heretic, but what are the consequences? I offer to compare Byzantine canon law with East Syrian and West Syrian canon law. This will show the type of punishment proposed against parents who give their daughters to heretics. Also Christian marriage is indissoluble : is the adoption of heresy by one of the spouses a cause for divorce or a case of annulment of the marriage?
